Now on to the important stuff. in the buddy list it would be great to have an offline folder like aol has. Second the chat. you can not log onto the aol chat rooms with Gaim. if you where in aol you would go to My AIM > Control Panel > Chat. and then a menu opens listing some of the chat rooms. and once you are in the chat room you can more to another throught the menu at the bottom of the chat window. and it lists all the chat rooms in this menu. it would be great to be able to get to these chat rooms. Another thing if you want to creat a new screen name you still have to have aol or msn ( dont know about the others) on you comp it would be great to be able to cut out aol and msn and all the others and just use Gaim. but my biggest complaint is that it is just missing some of the features that i cant do without. so until then i will be using both Gaim and the others that it is supose to replace ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Luke Schierer (lschiere) Date: 2007-04-09 21:15 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=28833 Originator: NO As we are closing this tracker, please submit any feature request that is still valid to http://developer.pidgin.im. Thanks. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Luke Schierer (lschiere) Date: 2004-06-10 10:46 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=28833 we have never implemented reading buddy alerts off the server (if they are stored there, i'm unsure), partly because they are an annoyingly poor copy of the buddy pounce functionality that we introduced into gaim well before aim introduced buddy alerts. buddy pounces fully provide the functionality of alerts, as well as much more. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: sephirothnova04 (sephirothnova04) Date: 2004-06-10 10:00 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1060534 now that i have looked through it more you are right there are very few things missing. but one thing that is missing is buddy alerts (or some kind of pop up to tell you who as just logged on ) I am alot happyer with the program now that i have used it some more. now i just have to get the rest of my family to use it. I do have a question some times it takes it almost 3 or 4 min to log on to an account. could this be due to my internet connection or firewall. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Luke Schierer (lschiere) Date: 2004-06-10 07:06 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=28833 1)offline folder: i've never liked that ui. 2)chats: i cannot duplicate the inability to join a chat. 3)you can register for both aim and msn from webpages. see the faq. 4)what features are we missing? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=350235&aid=970095&group_id=235 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys.
