It is so much better to have access to new messages without taking the hands of the keyboard. Assigning a custom key combo (like CTRL+Y) to the Gaim tray icon would be greatly appreciated. This means that I could answer to messages (typing) without using the mouse. I asked for the this feature some months ago and somebody told me to change the entire gtk key theme... This is not the right way, I think. Thanks much Stefan ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Luke Schierer (lschiere) Date: 2007-04-11 13:03 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=28833 Originator: NO As we are closing this tracker, please submit any feature request that is still valid to http://developer.pidgin.im. Thanks. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Stefan Nicolin (nic0linux) Date: 2005-04-17 06:42 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=953153 That's exactly the problem. There is NO menu item for the tray bar... Please take a look at the following screenshot of my panel: http://www.informatik.fh-wiesbaden.de/~snico001/misc/panel-gaim.jpg On the right side is the gaim icon flashing. I would like to be able to press "Ctrl+y" and have the conversation window pop up. Is this possible? Thanks for your patience. Stefan ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Luke Schierer (lschiere) Date: 2005-04-13 18:35 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=28833 start gaim, put your mouse over the given menu item, type the keystroke you want to tie it to, and watch it change. that should start working (assuming it isn't used elsewhere in that dialog, if it is, one, the other, or both might happen) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Stefan Nicolin (nic0linux) Date: 2005-04-13 17:07 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=953153 Ok, thanks I did. This file was not present - so I created one. Now how should I say that "CTRL+y" produces a click on the gaim tray icon? Thanks again Stefan ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Luke Schierer (lschiere) Date: 2005-04-13 16:15 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=28833 add gtk-can-change-accels = 1 to your ~/.gtkrc-2.0 and then you can change the keyboard short cuts- and gaim will remember the changes. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=350235&aid=1182456&group_id=235 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys.
