Category: None Group: None >Status: Closed Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: ChaosBlizzard (chaosblizzard) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Font/Window Color Enhancement: Initial Comment: It seriously look's stupid when you can only change the background color for the text and not the entire window. I believe this should be considered a *basic* function expected by any good messenger program. I would like to see gaim support changing of the entire background window color in chat dialogs. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Luke Schierer (lschiere) Date: 2007-04-12 12:17 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=28833 Originator: NO As we are closing this tracker, please submit any feature request that is still valid to http://developer.pidgin.im. Thanks. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: ChaosBlizzard (chaosblizzard) Date: 2004-12-26 17:40 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1055702 I still think they should add this change. If the user receiving the text with full background doesn't like it, than they can have an option to override any font/color to their own default. I believe most chat applications allow this anyway. They could add this option, and allow the users to choose to strip incoming messages of the text/colors if they want, or have them show up as they want it to. Just because the receiver doesn't like the way something looks doesn't mean the sender should be subjected to the other persons tastes, the same goes for the other way around. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Brad Landis (bradlis7) Date: 2004-11-19 18:21 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=847380 I disagree. I think the current text should only be highlighted. It fits more into the gnome desktop (more standard desktop). On windows, maybe that would be fine, but I don't think they should do that on the gnome desktop at least. I actually don't like it that way anyways, it looks ugly if they have a background color that doesn't match on your background. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=350235&aid=1067025&group_id=235 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys.
