Category: core Group: None >Status: Closed Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Vadim Berezniker (kryptolus) Assigned to: Etan Reisner (deryni9) Summary: message notification (not typical method) Initial Comment: Whenever someone on aim who has a buddy icon starts a new conversation with me, gaim sets the conversation window icon to the buddy icon and thanks to the application icons in the gnome pager, I realize whenver someone has messaged me by the icon. This doesn't work for people w/o buddy icons or for protocols w/o buddy icons, so what I was thinking was just to use the protocol icon for those. Then every 1 or 2 seconds, flip the icon to something else and back. No need for those "alert" boxes... (Of course none of this will be helpful to people with one desktop, but it won't affect them in any way) If you think this is a good idea, I can work on the actual implementation.
