Category: None Group: gtk bug #153219 >Status: Closed Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Nojh (nojh) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Initial Windows Misplacement Initial Comment: I just downloaded and isntalled gaim v1.1.2 onto a dell optiplex running windows XP. The system uses a dual screen configuration and because the secondary screen is elevated, there is a screen offset (the second right screen is perhaps one foot vertically displaced from the primary left side monitor). The two monitors run an extended desktop. In both v1.0.1 and v1.1.2 gaim will start initial IM windows above the primary left screen where the mouse can not reach to pull them down. If the left monitor is setup so that there is no displacement, the IM window appears within the primary left screen. Bascially it seems like the IM window's initial placement is tracking to the highest highest point, which is the right screen, and the left most point, which is the left screen. But due to the vertical difference between these two points, the window is being placed out of bounds of the desktop. The window can still be moved into the desktop by right clicking on its tab in the task bar and selecting move, then using the arrow key to drag it all the way to a viewable area, however since there is no memory placement, each new IM window will always be off screen. I did a second test where I made the left monitor the "higher" of the two and found the newly opened IM window appears fine in the upper left hand corner of the primary screen. On a side note, accessing a user's info does not have this issue. It appears fine in the primary left screen no matter the displacement. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Daniel Atallah (datallah) Date: 2005-01-31 14:12 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=325843 I created a plugin that acts as a workaround to this GTK bug.
