Category: None Group: gtk bug #156246 >Status: Closed Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: HybridZero (hybridzero) Assigned to: Daniel Atallah (datallah) Summary: Bad conversation window position with top-of-screen taskbar Initial Comment: Running WinXP SP2, When a new conversation window is opened while the windows taskbar is at the top of the screen, the Conversation Window's title bar is stuck underneath the taskbar, and cannot be reached to move it. The conversation window jumps to the correct position, fully underneath the taskbar when the taskbar is resized or moved away, and then back to the top of the screen. The window position also correct itself when the buddy list window is docked or undocked from what is was when the conversation window was opened. Right clicking on the task in the taskbar, and using the movement and max/min commands do not produce an adequate solution - the movement command does not work because the window titlebar cannot be clicked, and doing a minimize / maximize / restore still results in the titlebar being trapped under the taskbar. This bug occurs using both the Windows Classic visual style, as well as the Windows XP visual style. I also tested with a custom theme, with the same results. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Daniel Atallah (datallah) Date: 2006-01-11 23:01 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=325843 This is not a Gaim bug, but a bug in GTK+, the widget toolkit used by Gaim. Your bug is being moved to our "gtk bugs" tracker, where it will be grouped with similar bugs. When we know a gtk bug number for this issue, your group number will reflect it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Daniel Atallah (datallah) Date: 2006-01-11 23:01 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=325843 You can work around this by right-clicking on the taskbar entry, clicking "Move" and then starting movement with the cursor keys. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=680472&aid=1403321&group_id=235 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by DB2 Express Download DB2 Express C - the FREE version of DB2 express and take control of your XML.
