My topic area for my thesis falls under the broad theme of gender and development. I am specifically interested in exploring poor women's empowerment and entrepreneurship in India. I am attempting to establish a contact with a micro-credit organization in India that delivers credit to poor women for my research proposal to the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA). Essentially, I am looking for an organization (host organization) in India that would allow me to conduct my research with their clients and staff over a four-month period. All my research results will be fed back to the organization. I am not looking for funding and will be taking care of that aspect myself. I am under some pressure to establish a contact by April 15th and would sincerely appreciate any personal contacts to organizations in India in the above mentioned area. I am willing to gear my research agenda to include any questions that address the needs of the particular organization while maintaining a strong gender and development focus.
