I'm using JQuery with files *.js extension. I tried adding the data type as you 
suggested but it still doesn't seem to fix the problem.

Which library are you trying to use?
You may have to define your own datatype and add something like the
following to the file "datatypes_conf.xml"afterwards:

<datatype extension="html" type="galaxay.datatypes.xml:Html"
mimetype="application/html">
