Hi, Shaun. The distribution of Linux would not matter. All of the stuff kernel, libraries, etc is typically identical. The only question would be version matching. I would suspect Sony would be adding some specialised tools for the games, and and special libs that would be specific to their console. I don't get why you would think you would need sound cards, speakers, and screen readers. It is game console. It hooks up to your tv. The speakers are your tv or stereo system.
