One thing I'm worried about is that you see, in some games, less and less game sounds. I agree with Brandon about menues, you need a sighted friend to guide you through them until you memorise them or write them down. About less game sounds though, my friend had a baseball game where you'd sort of know when to hit because you could hear the pitch, but now he says with the new version their's no pitching sound. Also, I could play FIFA 99 on the PC, my dad just needs to start the matches for me, because you need to do that with the mouse. How I sort of used to play, is you know where a person plays in real life, for example, when I hear the commentator say 'Vieir,' I'd know that, since V plays central midfield, that's where I am, then I would know that I'd sort of be OK, no matter in which direction I pass. What's also good is how the commentator gets excited when you're near the goal. Running is a bit of luck, since you can't see where defenders are, but it's still fun to play. In the latest FIFA's, they've taken the sound of tackling away, and made the ball sound so soft, that I really can't play it. I actually do have a Sega Megadrive, and I agree that the WWF games are very easy to play, it's just a question of having someone to tell you what the sounds mean, and then you can really enjoy yourself. My friend also had Mortal Combat 3 on the Sega, and that was really cool. I stopped consoles, until my brother got this model, so I'm really excited to get back into console gaming. The only thing I regret though is that games for the Nintendo Entertainment System and Sega were so cheap, that it was OK if you bought one which turned out not to be so accessible. Nowdays with PS2 and PSP, games are so expensive that their's no room for making a mistake, and I can't even try the games out before I buy (with Nintendo and sega, their was this lovely games shop that we always used to go to, with friendly staff who had the patients of saints!) I used to try 3 or 4 games before deciding on one! Ari
