HI, Strangely enough, someone on the entombed mailing list is havign possibly the same problem. So I have pasted the solution below:
You're likely missing the SQL Compact 3.5 SP2. First, you have to uninstall the version that 1.02x installed, likely SQL Compact 3.5 SP1. Then you have to download the newer version from Microsoft and install the items appropriate for your system. The link to the self-extracting archive for SQL Compact 3.5 SP2 is located at: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=5783 Run this exe and have it extract to some place where you'll be able to find it easily, because that's the next step to browse to the location you just extracted to. You'll notice there's three files, install.txt, SSCERuntime_x86-ENU.msi, and SSCERuntime_x64-ENU.msi. Depending upon whether you have a 32-bit version of Windows or 64-bit, the install procedure is a bit different. If you have a 32-bit Windows, then just run SSCERuntime_x86-ENU.msi. If you have a 64-bit version of Windows, you must run SSCERuntime_x86-ENU.msi first, then SSCERuntime_x64-ENU.msi. These same instructions are found in the install.txt file. If you're not sure whether your Windows is 32-bit or 64-bit, there's a couple easy ways of finding out. Bring up Windows Explorer to show the list of files and folders on your computer's c: drive, which is where most people install Windows. If you have both a program files and a program files (X86) folder, you have 64-bit Windows. Also check your Windows folder, if you have a syswow64 subfolder, then you also have a 64-bit version of Windows. Otherwise, if you only have the one program files folder and no syswow64, you're running 32-bit Windows. Once you've installed the SQL Compact 3.5 SP2, try running Entombed 1.05b again, and let us know if you have any more problems. hth ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lori Duncan" <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, April 04, 2013 9:54 AM It's the latest version of Entombed I'm trying to run.
