Are you planning to store the data/content in actual database, or just lay it out on pages in a structured arrangement?

Asking since, if in database, you could then let guys search, or request different sort orders, categorisations, etc. etc. using data queries generated by page controls, etc., easily enough?

As in wouldn't think it was necessarily necessary to sort of hard-code layout options/arrangement/ordering/categorisation as such - if that makes sense?

Stay well

Subject: [Audyssey] Organizing teh Audyssey Database

Hello all,

Today or tomorrow I want to begin working on the Audyssey games
database, and I was wondering how you all think I should organize and
arrange the games and developers. There are many ways to do this so I
thought I would throw a few suggestions out here and gather your
input.

The first way I could organize the database is by developer. I could
have a list of developers such as BSC Software, GMA Games, PCs Games,
Blind Adrenaline, etc and below that heading all the games they have
produced. Of course, the problem with that method is if you are
looking for a certain type of game it is difficult to find or locate
without going through and each and every game on the site.

The second method is to organize games by type or genre. I could have
various categories such as action, strategy, card games, puzzle games,
etc. I think this would be a more acceptable method for organizing the
games on the site as you could go directly to the section that was of
interest and skip those sections that weren't of any interest.

The third option is similar to the second accept instead of just being
divided by genre they could also be divided up by platform such as Mac
OS, Windows, Linux, and iOS. Under those headings would be subheadings
such as action, strategy, card, puzzle, whatever. Any thoughts here?

Cheers!
