Hi Dark, Treasures are a special case. you can easily end up paying over 50 or 60 goods for them—otherwise they wouldn't be treasures. ;) As for raiding, it's a good idea to send anyone you can spare, though keep in mind if you send everyone away it's easy for cattle raiders to sneak in while you're gone. Don't neglect building fortifications, particularly the watchtower and stake perimeter, both of which help in pretty substantial ways.
