Hi Shaun, As said before DirectSound is reallly really broken on Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8. I could go into the technical reasons why, but unfortunately its something we Windows 7 users will have to put up with until developers use a different API or come up with workarounds for the various sound issues on Windows 7/8. I do agree comparitively speaking that XP is the better platform right now for accessible games. The key reason for that is many of the accessible games out there are still based on old outdated technologies like VB 6, DirectX 8, or in the case of Mississippi looking for an old version of MS HTML. Until these issues are resolved by developers newer versions of Windows are going to continue to be problematic for gamers just because developers aren't doing their part to make sure their programs are future compatible. :D
