Hi Thomas and cara,

I like the idea of helping people that are trying to get into programing
for the first time, hopefully this encourages more people to try and helps
people that may be struggling to understand. Hopefully the end result gives
us more people making audio games which helps the community .

Like Thomas said I know different people learn better in different
situations. Personally I work well with reading the theory with examples
that I can try to write out myself to practise. One of the first articles I
read on programming was something Aprone wrote called learning how to code
for the absolute beginner, it only ran through some very basics of how to
program using VBS, but it was great since I only needed notepad in word and
I could follow what he was talking about and using his examples write my
first little bit of programming and then used the knowledge learnt to
expand that program. Although it was only a very basic program I thought it
was a great article, well written and easy to follow for someone with
absolutely no programming knowledge. The link to it is below

I like the idea of the wicki that you talked about I think it would be a
great central point for new developers to visit to see tutorials etc I
know there have been a lot of emails recently regarding programming advise
requested from john, and although some of the concepts have been a little
over my head they have been interesting and I can begin to see the
logic/thought process of some of the ideas and been storing the emails away
in a file for later use when I will find it helpful so having a wicki
where this kind of information is would be invaluable to people just
learning to program and wanting a little assistance.

Hi Lenron,

Well, do to the fact my Jaw is currently messed up I am in no position to
verbally give podcasts or talk anyone through programming, but I have been
considering starting a wiki or blog with programming examples, tutorials,
and articles aimed at helping someone get started. Do you think that would
be enough?

Cheers!
