one abreviation that always amuses me is sod for shades of doom,(people have
likely noticed I tend to just refer to it as Shades). This is because "sod"
is a miner british (and especially North of England), swearword similar in
profanity to Bugger. My mum will often say "oh sod!" if she spills her
coffee or the like :D.
