Another problem with abbreviating names of games is when your typing is not
very good, you misspell the abbreviation, and don't check for errors when
sending the post. There's no way, or almost no way, that people would know
what you meant if you sent a message dealing with SOF when you meant SOD,
for example.

I have been so used to call the gma games like tank commander and shade of
doom by their short hands, gtc, and sod I scarsly give it a thought.
And on the list for tactical its always been called tb since I have
joined and started testing it.
In fact its odd to even call the games by their long names because I am so
used to calling them shortened.
Forgetting that any new people would be wandering what things were.

one abreviation that always amuses me is sod for shades of doom,(people
have likely noticed I tend to just refer to it as Shades). This is because
"sod" is a miner british (and especially North of England), swearword
similar in profanity to Bugger. My mum will often say "oh sod!" if she
spills her coffee or the like :D.
