AD&D is a really bad game design for something like a mud.  It works
when you use it at the glacial pace of a pen and paper setting, but it
only works well if you have a good DM to go with it.  In a high speed,
real time scenario under computer control, the rules just aren't going
to work well.

I know there are a few games that claim to use D&D rules, but it's
invariably with a ton of tweaks to make the game playable.
