Just loaded a collection of the following directories into the talking VMWare
image of dos 6.22/windows 3.1 into a games directory had created on virtual C:
drive - this was just a collection of dos games had here, and not sure what
they all actually are, but tested one quickly now - sherlock, and it seems to
be a compiled dos game version of the infocom interpreter wrapped around a
specific adventure - and worked fine along with ASAP dos screen reader:

adom
alice
astro
basic - think this one and the next one are actually ooooold qBasic .bas files
basic2
braminar
castaway
castle
CAVE
concent
crusade
darkcon
dopewars

pz
redplan
samerica
sherlock
shoot
sos

superig
tenpin
terror
timetrav
vip

zork3

I did this using a free bit of software to create a CD .iso image file,
including all the relevant directories, and then added it as an additional
virtual CD-Rom drive for the virtual machine to read/use:
http://www.winiso.com/

Then in dos, with ASAP talking, I just used xcopy command to copy all the
folders over to virtual hard drive, maintaining their directory structure,
etc...<smile>

Stay well
