I do feel a tad guilty about this since the audiogames.net page on bgt has
needed to be updated for quite some time. It was done a few days ago in
fact, but this is rather late in terms of letting people know.
I think Philip is still somewhat involved and answering questions, though I
don't believe active development continues as much, though some amazing
things have been done with it, paladin of the skies, beatstar and now crazy
party.

No you don't. Actually as far as I know the only games you'd need bgt
itself
to play are uncompiled ones, and unless you were beta testing you probably
won't see any of those now that Bgt is completely free in it's full form.
