Well if you're having difficulty getting around in muds you could try nodeka which is a fascinating quest filled mud with realistic characters and great players. There is a map that always appears over the latest description of where ever you are that allows you to look around that zone with less difficulty. The maps are similar to nethack maps if you understand those the only thing is it's a little annoying listening to your speech reader reading out the map before describing the area so you can turn off the auto map and call it up when ever you like with the map command.
