Expantions might happen, though currently i do hope Aaron makes online
communication a little easier, and perhaps also includes some slightly more
even ways of distributing xp to temper some of the grinding.

Pokemon enspired certainly, both in the world and in some of the
mechanics,
but also rather different. The story of manamon is far darker for
starters.
To answer your question, pokemon walkthroughs will not help, for a start

elements, attacks etc are different.
Two people I know have made it through all seven stadiums, and I believe

a long way to getting all the manamon as well.
