Great point Lori. There are a few pretty long stretches of tube which do run across open ground.
Looks like tons of good clean geeky fun Nick. Here are a few things I'd be excited about if they made it into the game: - Different environments for stretches of line that aren't underground - Randomized but intelligent variables for key stations, for example if it's a match day, some tubes don't stop at certain stations for a few hours, whilst other stations in the area are exit only to direct and regulate the flow of a crowd descending on an event. Plenty of other variables all over the map, such as identifying peak times in relation to something like branches of Westfield closing near to Stratford and Shepherds Bush tubes. - It would be awesome if instructions from control were received via radio. Double awesome would be some sort of language parser that recognizes good radio etiquette from the driver (either via typed or spoken responses) - Please, please please have engineering works at weekends and ways that drivers are expected to respond to them, IE more focus on customer service, extra announcements etc. They've become so much a part of the character of the tube network nowadays. - Randomized challenges to deal with, IE passenger alarm being activated, train faults, having that one drunken pillock on the last train of the night to deal with, buskers, etc etc. Oh, and if it helps at all, I might be able to connect you to someone who can do excellent impressions of a few of the voices that announce on each line. It'd likely need to be a paid gig for them, but I'm fairly sure I could talk them into mates rates for a fun project like this. Drop me a mail off list if that's of any interest. Keep us posted man. I can already feel the hours I'll be spending messing around with this trickling away.
