Hi,

Does the version of directX that comes with Windows XP not support managed
code? I'm writing an application in Visual C++, but decided to use the
managed code for DirectX, just because the code seems to be a tad simpler.
Does this require users to install additional DirectX libraries that
wouldn't be required if I used the unmanaged code? I should have looked at
what I had prior to installing the SDK. I might switch anyway, because I get
warnings about the directX DLL executing managed code in OS loader lock, but
was just curious. I prefer to write fewer lines of code, but not if it's
more trouble for everyone else. Also, I remember that there were discussions
about an email list for developers. If someone could send me the info on
where to sign up, I'd appreciate it. That way I won't have to bother the
non-computer geeks with these questions.

Thanks,
Jake
