As shift+d is a handy feature I need to understand it.
Suppose shift+d tells me sentor divination classroom 27 feet ahead and
I walk ahead and after say 5 feet the passage is turning does it then
mean that I can move 22 feet ahead and find the room?

Hi Nicol,
The game engine determines distances from you directly to the center of
the
object or room subtracting half it's size.
This means if you could walk through walls it would be 27 feet.
