Hi Mike and Bryan,
I've personally been in contact with Justin off and on over the past
year or so, and I know his daytime job has been working him pretty hard.
Frankly, Justin has had little time to work directly on BSC stuff. So
keep that in mind before putting BSC down.
Second, games are really nothing more than ideas and design documents
until they have been programmed. However, programming that idea into a
good game can be difficult, and things can and will go wrong. Sometimes
the game should be canceled for one of several reasons.
In Justin's case with Castle Quest there was good reason to cancel.
Justin had a great idea, but didnt have the time or skills to design it
himself. So he outsourced it to another dev who worked on it for a
while, and dropped out. Since the other developer was the licensed
holder of the source and quit Justin couldn't get the source code. To
start over would allow Justin to begin the project from scratch, and
have to learn all the things he didn't know, at the same time keep a
heavy workload during his daytime job, and still have a family life. He
couldn't do it, and so CQ bit the dust.
I am suspecting work and family is the reason Void and BSC Football were
canceled as well.
