Actually even in the sighted world I shop with a friend from time to time. Sometime betwene the middle of last year and this one, as games move to internet bassed orders, the shelved shop stuff has dropped to a really small quantity in local computer stores around here. Mostly its console bassed games now. And even then thats getting less. As more things move to online I think we will see less cds in shops as it is. If you think about it, the dev saves loads. you can pay from say 20 cents to 70 cents for a cd, and for my purposes I'll make it a dollar. Now depending on what case type he uses it could be something like 50 cents to a dollar if he uses a sleeve or a paper envelope, up to double that if he uses a single case, maybe 3 if he uses a double cd case and probably 5 if he uses a dvd case. Then there is all that posting to places, and well not doing so probably saves 12 bucks. You can buy a load with 12 bucks, I have tried it just for fun, and it is possible. And with the mostly highspeed connections these days its cheaper to do everything over the net. After you set everything up, including security. And some of this security is not all buy it and then have it free, I have seen some firewalls have running costs. So you periodically have to pay for yearly subscriptions for upgrades and things, some antivirus systems do this to. So If you can save 12 bucks on cds thats 12 bucks less you have to spend.
