Hi,
As it happens since I wrote to the list on this topic I decided to dig
around my hard drive and managed to dig up allot of effects. Mind you
they aren't the original TR effects, but most of them would work in a pinch.
For example, if I did TR Last Revelation I do have some very authentic
crocodile effects in my animals and monster library which don't sound
like the TR crocodiles, but would still sound good.
As far as Lara's array of weapons no problem. I discovered I happen to
hav uzi, shotgun, revolver, etc effects and supplying something that
sounds good for her weapons would be no issue here.
Well, again as far as footstep noises my footstep sounds won't sound
exactly authentic, but I do have stone floor noises, sand, swimming, etc
so again no biggy as faras getting good enough audio for movement.
In fact, I think the only thing I am really missing effects wize to do
TR is Lara's own personal effects like breathing, pain, and jump sounds.
Those can be recorded from another girl willing to do it, but they won't
sound original, but would work barring finding the originals.
Bottom line, I think I have the means to do a really good remake of Tomb
Raider. Most of the cut scenes and music are already unavailable
unencrypted from sites such as the one you pointed out so putting
together a good remake is possible.
I might have to buy a few extra sounds to fill in some of the holes, but
for the most part I have effects that would work. In fact, I'll need to
have some extra sounds anyway to give things sounds that didn't have
them in the first place like ropes, chains, and other items you could
see but not hear.
Now, the one trick to all this is how to have Lara describe the
puzzles. I suppose an x key like in Sarah that examines a object like a
hyrogliph on the wall, and describes the hyrogliph or something.
