All you sound rts players out there will do well to read and absorb whaat
Ken wrote here about RTRS, some very good advice there.
It is very important, especially in the beginning to use your peasants as
efficiently as possible, every second you waste is another second your enemy
is being productive and gaining an edge on you.
For instance, if you know you will need two farms built in the near
future, you might as well save up 10 gold and 10 wood to build the two farms
back to back, as these are built relatively quickly. This of course assumes
you have two meadows close by.
Also, I see a lot of players spreading their troops out, guarding a
sawmill with a couple footmen, patroling an area with a knight or two, etc.
This is bad strategy for the most part. Numbers win in this game, and the
player with the most overwhelming force in a battle is going to win it. By
the time you get the footmen guarding your sawmill to the fight, it may very
well be too late for them to help.
There are lots of other things to consider when playing, but I'll leave
some of the more subtle points for the newer players to find out on their
own, as this is half the fun.
Although I did indeed beat Ken last night, it was a heck of a fight, and
if I had been short just a couple of knights I think he would have
eventually wiped me out, as I was barely able to repel his attack on the
crucial d4 square in time. I think Ken is so far the best I have played in
the game.
Ken, if you don't sign up for the tournament, I am going to recruit lots
of dragons to fly over your house and set it on fire, fair warning.
Registration is open until Monday afternoon eastern time.
Lastly, I agree completely with ken about the length of names, some
players have 8 or 10 characters in their name, this is totally ridiculous
and unnecessary . Usually 3 characters will do, certainly no more than 5.
Most times, your initials will work just fine.
For those of you that haven't tried this amazing game out yet, or have
given up in frustration because of the interface which takes some time to
master, you don't know what you are missing. This game is completely
immerssive and addictive, and I feel sorry for those of you that haven't had
the pleasure of playing it.
The new beta seven, though it has a few bugs is worth checking out just
for the fact you get much more food and therefore a larger force to play
with. There are other cool new features as well, including updates on
health as your units are healed, and spoken progress of new building
construction.
I hope to see all you RTS players in the tournament, to join up go to:
http://www.blindadrenaline.com/tournaments/login.php
The tournament will begin Monday evening eastern time, so don't tarry.
Also, anyone that plays me online, please add me to messenger with:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
so we can chat during and after the game, it is a lot of fun to compare
notes after a hard fought campaign.
  See you on the battlefield.
  Che
