Hi Christopher, The .Net technologies are becoming more mainstream with Windows XP and Vista systems, and I highly recommend taking up one of the .Net languages. My personal recommendation would be C#, called C-Sharp, since it is very simple to learn, is widely documented, and is the language I personally use for my games. However, Visual Basic .Net is also quite popular. It has the same functionalities of C#, but from a more Visual Basic flavor. Though I find some documentation such as DirectX lacking for VB.
