I think that the answer to your last question is that you are passing another car once in a while. I think the car we are in is being driven on the high side of the track. At times, it sort of sounds like we're riding in a bus. I personally would not, if I had the option, have the music playing. It sounds sort of like what we used to refer to as, "elevator music', but, as I say, this is a personal opinion. I did not notice the steady increase or decrease in RPM as we were moving along as I had expected to hear.
