Nascars don't start races at a stand still. There are 2 rows of cars slowing moving and its up to the Flag man to toss the flag of green if all cars at least running properly inle. Usually the first few rolls of cars that come out of turn four will see the flagman go green.
This does bring up a point. certain points on the brack are lights for condition of race and your crew chief should tell you what you need to do. Like go high to get around a wreck.
