Hi Hunter,
The cheat codes are randomly generated per game installation. I imagine
David Greenwood has a master list of them since he created the game, but
after you earn 20000 points you can generate your own personal cheat
code list.
I know it seams like a great idea punching in a cheat and getting all
weapons at the beginning of the game, but, personally, I feel it totally
ruins the experience. Allot of folks earned those cheats through hard
work and practice, and after gaining them those cheats totally robbed
the game of it's challenge and mystery.
Here is a personal example of this. When I was learning to play the game
without cheats I found the blobs to be extremely tough to beat. However,
after I gained the all weapon and all ammo cheats taking on eh blobs was
a sinch on even the highest difficulty. Granted it took a little longer,
but defeating the blob wasn't difficult any more.
Speaking for me personally I like a good challenge most of the time.
Taking on those blobs was a challenge. Defeating one was a reason to
feel good about myself and get interested in taking n the next one.
Having cheats though pretty much said Iwas going to win that fight no
matter what happened. If I used the invincible to monsters cheat, per
say, I wouldn't even be scratched until level 9.
