Hi Phil,
I think David still has the GMA Engine available, but like you say allot 
of people paid the $50 trial fee, found out it was too hard for them, 
and quit using it.
I also had considered using it at one time, but stopped after I realised 
how much money I would stand to lose by not using my own programming 
skills to make games.
At least with Genesis my new engine I both have the ability to expand 
and update the engine while have something that will allow me to rapidly 
prototype and design games with drag and drop tools.
