Hmmm, if by tos you mean the original series, I very much got the idea that stfc was deffinately next gen.
It includes many things from the next gen era, the cardassians, Ds9, the deffiant, the borg, quantum torpedos etc, and thus I believe the sounds are dead on for that. Trek 2000 is most deffinately original series however I think, sinse it includes the planet killer and the tholians, both of which appeared in original series episodes, and again, the sounds are I think correct for that era (though I don't know original trek as well as I know next gen so I might be wrong here).
