Personally I don't think the hale blade is all that great. It used to be back when 8 melee was a lot, but now there's plenty of other ways to get stamina and heal yourself without having to sacrifice a massive amount of melee to do it. There's a 22 melee weapon you can get with a fair bit of ease without having a donate a penny. Perhaps the hale blade used to be good, but now its even lost its appeal for new adventurers if oyu ask me since the price got raised from I believe 2500, to 5000, and now 7500. I think it even hit 15000 at one point, and it definitely isn't worth that. As for hale versus goblindoom, *shrug* that depends on the situation. If you're fighting goblins then goblindoom would be better, but I guess if you have the gold and are willing to spend it the 4 extra stamina and healing power might be worth it. The hale blade does sometimes heal you completely, it saved me in the first proving grounds versus the serpent that someone mensioned.
