Not necessarily a chess client, but here's a link to play against a computer program online that thinks 4 ply ahead:

You are given links to the moves you can make next. Clike, or hit enter, on the move of your choice, and the program will respond with it's move. Use your own board and men and make the moves of the game on it. HTH.
