All the gamebooks and materials on chronicles of arborell are just web pages.

All you need therefore is whatever net brouser you wish, a dice program (I use gma dice), and something to record your character details in.


This does take more time and setup, but is well worth it sinse the writing, history, descriptions and world are some of the finest I've seen!

As for old text adventure games, if they actually run in dos you may be out of luck in vista. However, if they are zcode games, ---- such as the infocom games like zork, you can run them with any zcode interpreter such as win frotz or win frotz tts.
