Don't forget that Guy Fawkes himself wasn't a revolutionary but a member of
the existing regime about to be forced out by change, so he was really a
stick in the mud. We've forgotten that over time, we being the collective
humanity, via romanticisms such as V for Vendetta.
As far as the history of V for Vendetta I would say it is a very modern
piece compared to a lot of media you could have selected and I see it as an
amalgam of time and politics, this movie is one of the few that was made to
get people thinking that was generally accepted, at least in my area and
that seems to be rare. It wasn't as dark for me as the comic, but over all
was "just social commentary" that was absorbed and appreciated. Dystopian
futures abound however, and my primary focus is rarely on media except
Pendant as the Dystopian now is very much displeasing.
