TBH, the maximum pan people usually go for in these tests is deceiving anyway if you're using that sound to position your speakers for accurate aiming. I mean, unless Jeremy has coded diferently, it would be logical to assume that the extreme left of the stereo field would equate to something nasty being at exactly 90 degrees to your left, exactly aligned with you. How often does that happen!
