hmmm i didn't think you could cross the creak at all without the bridge.
Its why I havn't tried to cross at all!
I tried a couple times but to be honest I've never done well in swamp.
I have got rep, found a few guns, but never kept them.
I died a bit to.
I have tried quests but always got stuck in buildings, and after
quitting in frustration almost gave up because I was stuck in the kai mart.
I think the next version should have more caricter control.
I would like to do a few things.
1. reset my char exp and rep if I was not doing so well and just
restart or delete my char.
2. control where I am in the game no matter where I start.
Unrealistic I know but I'd like to place myself in the safe zone.
Mainly because if I get frustrated I'd get stuck and restart still
stuck in the game somewhere.
3. I'd like to have some sort of locker to store items that I would want.
Ie gas and other ammo and equipment like skopes and the like when I
find stuff for a weapon I don't have yet or if I find something I'ed
like to store it somewhere.
I'd like a command to save my char status, ie with what I have, etc, etc.
And I would like to restore in the safezone, Ok I'd probably lose a
little rep for probably doing that but it would be better at least
for new players or if I could control everything for my char.

There is 2 ways to get to the church. You can go south to kerrigan and cross
the bridge. There is also a beacon for the bridge you can use. Then turn
north after you cross or go to indy then turn north.
The other way is to cross the creek at the shallow part. If you are on the
safe zone side of the creek, go to 65Y. When you hit the creek, it should
say shallow part. you can also use your radar for this to find it easily.
About half way across, you will not be able to go any further, side step to
the left a few times and finish crossing. I usually just keep my finger down
on moving forward and side step left until I proceed ahead.
If you are on the factory side of the creek, you will need to be at 63Y.
Repeat side stepping left and you will finish crossing.
