Hmm, the only use of the acronym I see is in the name of the desktop icon,
the file for launching the game is ao.exe, and the setup file is aosetup.
In the manual, the program group, on Draconis' own site and on
audiogames.net and pcsgames.net the game is just called alien outback, ---
so goodness knows where people got confused, the two names are after all
quite different in meaning, sinse "alien outback" presumably means the
australian outback made weerd and twisted by the presence of alien invaders,
while "aliens in the outback" implies that the outback itself is fine, and
the aliens are just in it.
I personally like the nasty implications of the actual name myself, to me
"aliens in the outback" is a little like that doctor who episode "daleks in
Manhattan" it says what it does on the tin, but doesn't really enspire much
mystery or interest in the title, ---- it's as if Lord of the rings was
called "the hobbit goes to mordor!" :D.
Beware the grue!
Dark.
