Hi Darren.
I take it by "persistant" you mean one that doesn't reset every so often the
way warring factions, tribal wars, Aterion or unification wars do?
Others I've heard of have been capy regnum, travian, cyber nations, Devana
or ikarian, but I'm not sure if those persist or not.
Personally, those sorts of games just don't interest me because I just don't
find the pvp interactions with other humans interesting. I've seen so many
games that say "battle other players and create an empire" and it just is an
instant turn off, yet I absolutely loved castaways.
I suppo0se it's because even in a stratogy game I find reactive stratogy to
achieve objectives as caused by a computer that can simulate unforseen
circumstances such as desasters and weather, rather than none reactive pure
building stratogy against other human players, which is pretty much what
most of those games are based on.
unification wars was the only one of that type that struck my interest, and
that because it had single player like missions and researches, but after I
finished the newbie tutorial I just got attacked so many times it was
ridiculous, to the point in fact that I'd lost all my resources within the
first day when all I was doing was trying to complete single player missions
and not attacking anyone.
Imho I'd love to see a fully expanded version of castaways similar to dwarf
forgress where you could go from a small group of survivers to building a
full and mighty empire, just! reacting to the natural challenges of the
environment or specific targits, rather than having to constantly fight off
other human players.
In fact, mostly I don't find fighting other humans half as interesting as
engaging in an ongoing story or setting implicit in the game itself.
Beware the grue!
Dark.

Hi there,
Does anybody know of any good real long term persistent
Games that have a ton of empire building/trading economy
management/fighting
in it? I really hunger for that type of game.

Subject: [Audyssey] Private banking in Alteraeon?
Hi.
I was just wondering how the private banking in alteraeon worked. can you
literally just use banking commands from anywhere without having to go to
a
bank? and how much does it cost?
Appologies for asking, but I noticed it in the changelog but can't find
details of it with the help command or in the faq on donations.
if indeed you can! just stock pile any gold into the bank from anywhere,
then pick it up from anywhere, I can certainly see this as a usefull
addition, indeed yesterday I had to wander betwene Gad's landing and a
couple of locations having to buy quest items because I got there, found I
didn't have the cash, went bakc to pick it up, then had to go and pick it
up
again later.
Just as another question, I take it the credit buy corpse retreaval is one
time only, and doesn't let you just recall your corpse anyway at any time,
---- if it did I'd certainly want to learn resurrection, but if it's one
time only possibly not.
Beware the Grue!
Dark.
