hmmm thats good to know tom.
When I started working on stuff with uni I found it troublesim
finding a good frontend for my language that was free.
its good to know that its so easy especially since there are still
using vb6 and vb full stop.
I had once or twice tried c++ but gave up, I actually know pascal,
the free pascal emulater but never did anything complex and doubt
that there are any libs should I wish it.

Hi all,
I thought I'd give you game developers and gamers a bit of good news
I've recently discovered. Today I installed the Mono 2.10.8 runtime
and development tools. I decided to read the change logs just to see
what is new. To my happy surprise As of Mono 2.8 or later not only can
a .NET developer compile .NET 4.0 executables, but Mono now ships with
a free Visual Basic compiler equal to Microsoft Visual Basic 2010.
What this means is it is now possible to write a game or similar
application in Visual Basic .NET, compile it using Visual Basic 2010
Express or Monodevelop, and have it run on Mac OS or Linux with only
minor changes. If you write it using strictly cross-platform .NET
libraries you may not have to modify your Visual Basic .NET app's at
all. This is extremely good news as far as I am concerned since I know
a lot of beginning programmers, amateurs, and even some pro developers
prefer developing programs in Visual Basic because of its ease of use.
Now, they can do so and make it cross-platform in the process. In
short, we can now officially add Visual Basic .NET to our list of
cross-platform programming languages. :D
Cheers!
