Hi.
There are a couple of choices. I personally use the Filfre interpreter
however that does have a major floor the author is currently aware of and
working on where in games that exit abruptly when completed or when you are
killed don't output their text to the screen, the interpreter simply asks
you to select a new story. Death in Suspended and winning Infidel are two
cases in point, though I'm sure I could find others. There is an excellent
if slightly dated port of Winfrotz by Rich Lawrence since the current
version is inaccessible at least to me using the latest version of JAWS.
Best thing to do is to write me directly, I could then point you in the
right direction depending on what OS you are using as there are console mode
options as well for the slightly technically minded or adventurous spirits
amongst you. Also if you want to play Arthur, Shogun, Zork Zero, Journey or
Beyond Zork, Filfre will not be an option as it doesn't support the
formatting of these games, you'll have to use a port of Winfrotz.
All the best, Ibrahim.

Hi Lora,
I don't know about Jaws but you can always use Winfrotz with Sapi
turned on which works well enough with NVDA. Of course, NVDA works
well enough with Winfrotz without Sapi so maybe give Winfrotz a try.

OK, it looks like I got it to work after all.
Ibrahim, are there interpreters that work well with JAWS under Windows 7?
Last I heard, there weren't any good ones, so I'm curious.
Thanks.
