Well if you want to know more about music and plot of the mega man x (and indeed all other mega man series), check out the mega man network site I mentioned.

I'm less keen on that particular remix from x5 than the x2 one. one of the nicest points about the later music to the x games is that they mixed heavy metal with synths and very anime style cord sequences and melodies to produce something very epic and symphonic in style, not unlike the music of people like Luka torreli, indeed the more recent games have lost that symphonic aspect which is something I'm less keen on.

Essentially all that remix did is take the original them remove all the synth and for me interesting aspects of chords, and replace the main melody with someone going psycho on a rock guitar, thus making it actually far less interesting to listen to in texture and just turning it into another guitar thrash anthem.

Okay if you happen to have a thing for rock guitar solos I suppose, but for my money not really comparable to the original in richness or style.
