well a lot just use the generic drivers for sound which face it are crap.
the primary feature of these is to previde over all sound.
which they do.
now your stereo mix is a feature of your card and will have to be set, however to get best performance from your card you need your drivers for your card. Prime example, I have an andriea electronics speech sa usb headset and mic hocked to the primary box which handles speech recognition via dragon. I can tell you now the standard driver did work but the contorls jumped and several other bad things happened. with the manufacturer drivers I downloaded later on the system worked so thats the way it is. On the other hand be thankfull that though crap and generic we had sound its not so long that you started with no sound and unless you had something like a piss poor quality plantronics headset which doesn't require anything or a cheap sound card like I do its no good no sound.
I still use my bad set for systems which won't sound for whatever reason.
some of those servers are easier to just plug usb ssound into them rather than requiring me to fiddle with their sound plugs in their racks especially if they have so many.

Not sure what people are saying about windows not letting them record audio and their voice at once anymore. My windows 7 computer still gives me the option to do so. Subject: [Audyssey] Podcasts?

Hi there.

I hope this isn't too off-topic.

I hear a lot about how people are going to make podcasts for pc or
iphone products, and I think I might have something worth contributing
on that score. I was, at one point, more than capable of creating
podcasts, but now I'm h just not sure what people use to get a good
recording of their computer's audio, since Windows doesn't really seem
to allow people to do the "Record all audio" thing anymore.

As for iphones and such, is the only way to pull that stuff and record
it plugging it into a mixer?

THanks for the help.
