Slow down, there, Sparky. You still need to apply my rrd_helpers.c patch
to CVS. :)
sparky? hehe.
That's right, you don't watch Farscape...
please send me the patch and a short explanation of what it does. okay?
i'll check it out and then get it into CVS immediately.
I, um, already did. Last week.
I'll work on the SGI stuff though, if you can't find the last patch I guess
I'll just send you one e-mail that turns into the uber-patch email and you
can apply them all at once.
having a SGI package to distribute would be way cool. which leads into
another idea i've meant to mention to you but though it might be asking
too much. do you think you could make a Solaris package for ganglia?
there are directions for how it's done on the sunfreeware web site
http://www.sunfreeware.com/pkgadd.html
back in the day when i was a solaris sysadmin, i used to make them without
much pain. once you have it working.. it's easy to update. it something
that doesn't interest you or you don't have time that's cool. you're one
of the biggest contributors to ganglia so it's not like you don't do
enough already.
I thought of that but because the number of Solaris boxes here is fairly
stable, I haven't made it a priority. I am much more interested in an SGI
package and figuring out something for the Tru64 boxes.
i think all the gangliittes out there are going to love 2.5.0.
For some reason I misread this as ... well, nevermind.
???
Eh, tell ya later.
p.s. i watched Tron last night. it was even cooler than i remembered as a
kid (of course there's lots of bad acting and the CGI are nothing like
today) but it was cool. i didn't realize before how much they ripped off
from Star Wars though.. i swear i heard some tie fighter audio and the
early Tron sketch boards had them dressed just like Stormtroopers. oh yeh,
the deleted love scene cracked me up.. you should check out the 20th
anniversary DVD.
The 20th anniversary DVD is basically the Collector's Edition laserdisc
shoveled onto DVD with a teaser for Tron 2.0 thrown in ... if memory serves
me correctly.
I thought about buying it anyway, but it's really not necessary. I've seen
Tron so many times (in every medium available) that it's no longer
necessary for me to actually watch the movie anymore.
No comment on the similarities. I wouldn't want my comments misconstrued,
and anyway I don't have anything intelligent or meaningful to contribute to
the subject.
