 see my previous Mail. It seems the "newerness" of the timestamps for
Makefile.am and Makefile.in is randomly depending on the svn checkouts.

 again, see my previous E-Mail, where it did not help to run aclocal
and automake.

 Not sure about FC4 being the standard. It is true for me, but I do not
want to dictate that. Maybe something like RHEL4 (Centos-4) or SLES9
would be more apropriate for Linux. But what about the non-Linux
platforms?
