Hello,
I've been trying to set up Ganglia for some days now and I could really
use some help. Right now, I've just got gmond running on a single computer.
Gmond and gmetad start up fine, but after they do, shouldn't I be able to
see a host under gstat? I get nothing at all. I know there's something
wrong with my gmond because when I telnet to 127.0.0.1 8649, I get only
half page of XML (I've seen a functional output, I assume it's longer than
a page) with a blank CLUSTER XML element in it, and then an error that says
"Connection closed by foreign host". Has anyone had this error before?
Someone posted about it a long time back, but nobody ever replied to his
query. I'm kind of new to unix, but I've read everything ever posted to
this list and tried anything that sounded like it might work and still no
success. All the obvious settings in my conf files have been set to the
right values. I suspect these two symptoms are both caused by the same
problem. Please, any input on what this might be would be greatly appreciated.
